PST End of Year Message - 2024
As we end 2024 it gives us a chance to reflect on the year been and the year ahead. Drew Main as Chair shares his message on behalf of the PST board.
At the time of writing, our club is undergoing another period of transition as DAFC Fussball GmbH took the decision in August to sell their shareholding. As reported by the club in October, a number of interested parties emerged with the legal process progressing well.
2024 has been a special year for the PST with us celebrating our 20th birthday. Reaching such a milestone is a huge part of the legacy of one of our founder members and original Chair, Margaret Ross who we lost 8 years ago almost to the day. I hope she would be proud to see the PST continuing to thrive.
#As part of those birthday celebrations we put together a show at the Carnegie Hall recognising the fantastic team who took us to our first Scottish Cup final since 1968, also 20 years ago in 2004.
The event was expertly compered by BBC Scotland’s Rob Maclean and it was great to see the camaraderie of the players as they reminisced throughout the evening.
We also hosted a members birthday party in Charlie D’s which provided us with the opportunity to introduce this seasons PST sponsored players, Taylor Sutherland and John Tod.
It reminded me of the success both lads achieved as part of the young team that won the Reserve League Cup in May and the small part the PST played in that success by funding the executive travel the players enjoyed to and from the final venue in Livingston.
So, with another busy year for the PST behind us, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very merry Christmas and a peaceful 2025.
You can be assured that the PST will continue to support our club in the best interests of our members in the year ahead. We look forward to working closely with our new custodians when the transaction is completed and play an active role as we embark upon a new era for DAFC.
C’mon ye Pars!
